Frances Hardinge Wins Costa Award

The Lie Tree

Frances Hardinge has won not only the 2015 Costa Children’s Book Award, but has now won the overall award for The Lie Tree. Hers is the first children’s book to win the overall award since 2001 when Philip Pullman won it for The Amber Spyglass.

2016 Sydney Taylor Book Awards

The 2016 Sydney Taylor Book Awards have been announced by the Association of Jewish Libraries. The awards are given to outstanding books for children and young adults that “authentically portray the Jewish experience.” Winners, honor books and notable books are named.

The winners of the 2016 Dolly Gray Children’s Literature Award have been announced. The award is given by The Division on Autism and Developmental Disabilities of the Council for Exceptional Children in collaboration with the Special Needs Project.
