The Horn Book has announced their 2013 list of the best books for young people. The selections range from picture books through books for teens. It’s a beautiful list and I’m looking forward to discovering the ones I haven’t read yet.

Kirkus has released their list of the Best Teen Books of 2013. Fifty books that include a lot of my favorites of the year and also some nice new books for my to-read list. What are your favorites from the list?

2013 Costa Book Awards Shortlist for Children’s Books
The 2013 Costa Book Awards Shortlists have been announced. The Costa Awards are one of the UK’s most prestigious literary awards. They are given annually in five categories with the winners in the five categories going on to vie for a single top win as best book of the year. Here I’ll just focus on the children’s book shortlist:

The American Booksellers Association is offering a preview of their next Kids’ Indie Next List. Their website offers not only the top ten, but also an additional 42 titles listed by age range.
