New Books
Monsters
Publisher’s Weekly offers an article: A Monster of a Debut on the hot new book Monster Blood Tattoo by D. M. Cornish. It is interesting to read how such a unique and inventive world was discovered. I am about half way through the book right now, so look for a review in the next week or so. It is definitely worth reading!
The Novel TokyoPop
Anime News Network has a TokyoPop press release that informs us that TokyoPop is going to start publishing “serialized international teen novels.” They sound rather intriguing:
“According to Mike Kiley, TOKYOPOP Publisher, “Pop Fiction is the first
YA line in publishing history to engage kids openly with stories from
all over the planet that embody the beautiful messiness of life.””
Spring & Summer Preview
Kirkus Reviews has a handy Spring & Summer Preview that includes both adult titles and ones for children and teens. This is an easy way to get a glimpse of some of the hotter children’s titles coming out this year.
Peter Pan Title Announced
Sci Fi Wire has a very, very short article on the upcoming sequel to Barrie’s Peter Pan, written by Geraldine McCaughrean. The only information released about the book is that it has been completed and that the title is: Peter Pan in Scarlet.
All I Want Is the Truth
If you haven’t seen the incredible John Lennon: All I Want is the Truth, visit the site to read reviews, preview the book, and learn more about Elizabeth Partridge, the author.
Raby Compared to Rowling
I know, we have heard it before, but once again a newspaper is saying that a new Children’s author is tipped to match Harry Potter magic. The author in this case is Lucy Daniel Raby who has written a story about Father Christmas, Nickolai of the North which has become quite a success in Britain. Certainly one to put on the reading list when it is released in the U.S.

Great Gift Books
Season’s Readings: Kids books to choo-choose isn’t a list of children’s holiday books, rather it is a list of the top choices for the year that will make great gifts. And once again I am finding books that I have yet to get my hands on. Hurrah!
