After watching the trailer online at the site above, the movie doesn’t seem to bear much resemblance to the book I liked so much. Ah well, it’s exactly what I have come to expect. But the cast looks wonderful with Anne Hathaway (star of The Princess Diaries), Joanna Lumley and Eric Idle.

  5. I am a huge fan of ella enchanted andd I think that the movie is going to be wonderful. I think we have to remember that ella went through an internal struggle in the book, of what could have happened if she married char. And thats really hard to show on film. I believe that to make this book a movie you had to take the internal struggle and put ella and char in a life or death situation. not what could happen

  13. I have just returned from seeing that terrible film. Not only did they not do justice to the plot but they altered and destroyed fantastic characters that are very well loved. I am in grade seven and know many people that value and treasure that wonderful novel. I would like to ask the creators of that movie if, first of all, they have even read ‘Ella Enchanted’. If not, then I would advise them to do so so they would realise what a terrible crime they have committed. Also, I wonder that if, just because we are young, they think that we have no appreciation of literature. I think that it is despicable that they should take the title of it merely for publicity and then distort the plot! I literally was weeping throughout it and am VERY hurt that they did this. It had a terrible script and catered to a much younger audience than what was intended in the book. They also followed the formula of popular films and stole the originality of Ella Enchanted. I agree with many of the comments posted here. How could Gail let them ruin and cut up her marvellous novel? THE FILM MAKERS HAD NO IDEA OF HOW MUCH THEY WOULD HURT READERS BY CREATING THIS HORRIBLE, AWFUL, AND DISCUSTING FILM! Finally, I would like to add that I am in a towering temper and the depths of despair.

  21. I think the movie was great i never read the book so i cant tell u about the book. What i like most about the movie is when ella was singingit had so mutch passioni was even crying to tell u how mutch i loved it. And prince char was just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute i wish he knuw hwo i was but he doesn. i think he has a verry cute but !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. THE Movie was actually way better than the book, and I really liek the book. The movie added comedy and dark villains with a great twist. It was way better than the book. Remeber that the film is BASED on the the book, its only based on the fact that Ella has the gift of obedience. THe filmakers did a FANTASTIC job with the movie. Besides Anne Hateway is HOT 9this is a guys so dont think wrong) jk LOL

  23. i agreee with zoe cleland! in fact, i couldnt have put it better myself! every possible thing that could have been twisted was twisted, you even twisted things i didnt know were possible. i dont believe any of you have ever read the book, and its a cryin shame how much you can ruin a perfectly wonderful book with such horrible slander. i hated the movie.
