Sharon Draper
Website for this author of the 2004 Coretta Scott King Honor Book, The Battle of Jericho, which happens to be at the top of my reading pile. Her site has sections for teachers and young readers, plus a warm note for kids who write to her via email.

Hey Sharon!! I love your book Forged by fire it is really the best book i have read..it is very touching and well written..u did an excellent job making it seem so real..even though it does happen in some households..although i didnt have to go through that i can still understand what was going on and how each character felt. This book was a very good book and i absolutely loved it!
