Lois Lowry has a new book coming out in April. Messenger is a companion novel to The Giver and Gathering Blue. Hurrah! The Giver remains one of my top ten books of all time for children.

  1. I’ve read a lot of books, and some of them had some pretty bad endings.BUT THE WAS THE MOST DEPRESSING ENDING OF ALL!I’M TALKING ABOUT THE MESSENGER!WHAT IS IT WITH YOU GOOD AUTHORS, ALWAYS MAKING THE ENDINGS SAD?!But the rest of the book was good. But still, no excuse…

  2. I personally think that it was an ok book. But it was NO WAY near as good as The Giver.The giver made u wanna not stop reading it. Like u wanted it to never end. In The Messenger he dies in the end and its a stupid ending. I liked how they brought back Jonas but he wasnt a interesting as in the first book. And I also think they should have mentioned Gabe alittle more than a sentence. But all in all it was an ok book.

  4. I absolutely loved your book The Giver. You should really be considering to type a sequel to the book.I didn’t like how it left us hangin’. That was sad wut happened to the other twin. I hate the word release.
