  7. Horowitz helped write the screen play himself. But no-one has been cast yet. Have you all heard: there is gona be an Alex Rider book 6? I can confirm it – a friend of mine (who owns a bookshop) spoke to the publishers and they confirmed it.

If they make the movie I’ll probably love it, but it’s going to be tough to make because it’s a kids book but people die frequently and graphically (jellyfish sting, 40 million nickels, numerous shootings). Oh, and being from the USA, I think they should synchronize the release of the books in both England and America, so I’ll be able to read Scorpia now

  16. I talked to anthony horowitz personally today. I will answer all questions. It will be released in the u.s. and should be done in this year or next, it is only going to be the first one not the first three yet. He said it will probably not be an english actor he said, “American actors seem to be better”. CJ, he said that the movie makers didnt want to make another kid spy movie since cody banks since that stupid movie is over with alex rider can come on soon, good!!!

I don’t think that Alex would be dead at the end of scorpia because that would be such a stupid and annoying way to end the series! Also for reasons that others have said! He is described in the book as being buff (ok, maybe not in those exact words, but at the end of scorpia it actually says ‘he had the sort of face that would have attracted plenty of girls if the boy had only lived a little longer.’)i want to be able to drool over him in the cinema, lol! btw, has anyone got any info on casting? i would love to be an extra in stormreaker… and if they make a 2nd film, i would love to play Fiona Friend!

    sorry i havn’t written for a while but i only come on the PC (at work) on a weekly basis, i will try and get on more often!
    Well to answer some questions i’ve been asked…i am from Kent, im 17 but look younger and have been told that i am a good looking lad! It may seem weird if an older guy got the part as Alex but as i look younger and am more well built than 14 year olds i think i could be quite good. There is actually more chance of Anthony Horowitz wanting an older guy to play the part as they would bring a more mature role to the character (which Alex clearly is) and would not have younger kids schooling interfered with, which he would not like as he like to write books for tennagers and likes to see them learn!
    I wouldn’t say that i am the best looking guy in the world but i am not bad! 🙂
    So does anyone have any details on auditions?
    I really like the books and would love the chance to play the part of Alex (just like most of you out there!)

  238. hey, i just found this site trying to find out about the movie and other horowitz stuff. here’s what i know:
    There is definitely a 6th book and possibly a 7th.
    I don’t think that anything definite has been done about the film yet, they’re still discussing it which is why it’s not on any 2005 or 2006 release lists. I doubt they’ll hold auditions for it, the casting director’ll probably just look for suitable kids who are with an acting agency and ask them to audition cos that’s what usually happens.
    Oh yeah, I heard April 2005 is possible release date for the 6th book, set in the Iraqi mountains. That’s UK only by the way.
    I’m always lookin for info though, so I’ll post it if I find anymore.

Your lucky, school (for me, who else?) starts at 8:40, but it takes me half an hour by bus to get there, so i get up at 7:00, sometimes earlier, ’cause you can never be sure with the C11 (the bus) and finishes at 3:20, and i have 5 lessons a day, each for an hour!! and only 1:20, the whole day worth of breaks! But i’m in my second last year of school, so i get to drop some of the boring subjects!

  292. Also…the next book will be released in England in May 2005 with the 7th following it in 2006. The screenplay for Stormbreaker is almost complete and he will be ready to start casting soon. Apparently though the film won’t start production until 2005/6 and probably wont be released until 2007/8. Anthony plans to release it in the UK first!! But its going to be a LONG wait!
    Just so you know Anthony does not know when he will stop making the books but when he does he will go out in a bang! And Chris Colombus is DEFINATELY not going to be the director!

    i started school yesterday. it was cool. school lets out at 3:10 but i got home at 4:48 because i have to ride the bus. i only live like 5 or 10 minutes away.
    anyway we have a new french teacher. i really liked the old though. she was from belgium and she actually smiled. our new one just looks so old and unwelcoming. she also speaks with a cajun accent. (hint for hunter). anyway she says america was stupid geographicly. ya know how if some one from another country is asked to point something out on a map they can go right up to it and easily point it out and americans cant. this is trur. i myself have to stand there for a couple of minutes. americans just dont care that much for education. (at least not as much as other countries) i care a lot for education and i am considered one of the smart kids. (3.8 gpa)
    and when i go to competitions and stuff foreigners kick butt! especially asian people. Not supporting a stereotype. i know not all asians are geniuses and not all non foriengers are dump. i myself make better grades than my best fried ( who i also turned on to reading.) who is vietnamese.
    but the teacher didn’t have to say america was stupid! she could have said ignorant.
    someone said she also sounded like a yankee(dont worry i don’t use that word for northerners i think it is mean) when cleary, she dose not. omg, you can totally hear her cajun accent when she talks, especially if she’s talking fast.
    i also plan to go out of america to attend a college in another country. i was thinking england. i love the accent.

Micky m- i get it you live in Louisiana (sp?). o and i said i was grounded, i didn’t say i didn’t read. i am on the bus for a total of 1.3 hours a day. i got some reading done then in school cause i had a college prep class (nobody should know what that is but there are five levels of classes at my school: Technical, College Prep, Honors, Gifted, and AP) and all the rest were gifted since there weren’t any ap classes offered for freshmen. o and i love british accents too. but i want to go to college in the US then move to Japan or Singapore (yes I know two todally different languages). o and my mom is cruel and unusual.

    so im sitting in the living room with my big sister and i turn it on using the remote but she doesn’t see the remote, she does see my head turn and the screen goes fuzzy though. so i say “hey amy, my head is making the tv go fuzzy” i turn my head back the other way while also turning the dvd player off. i turn it back the other way while turning it back on making the screen go fuzzy and so on…
    she’s like having a ball laughing at me and she can hardlly stop…that is until i show her the remote and revel to her just what i was doing and made HER look like the idiot. it was my turn to laugh at her. she actually thought it was really the turn of my head disturbing the tv!!!

    well, anyway, I JUST ORDERED SCORPIA!!!!! i bought a copy off ebay from some guy that was selling lke 60 copies. its only gunna cost me like $16 including shipping. and i live in america! its gunna take a couple weeks though cuz i chose surface mail instead of air mail cuz it would save me a couple bucks. but whats a couple weeks compared to the seven months i would have to wait if i didnt order it? hehehe im exited!

  523. grrrr. i had a swim meet today and my stupid coach put me in 50 buterfly (exhibition) which i have never swum in a meet! and it was the last heat of fly, and then i had to swim in the first heat (scoring) of 100 freestyle right after! i got out of the pool after fly, had about 30 seconds and then had to get back on the blocks for the next race! i should have gotten 1st or second in free but i got 3rd because i was tired! my time was 9 seconds slower than in our meet on thursday! grrrrrrr he wasted all my energy in a non-scoring heat! when he knows im an awsome freestyler! grrrrr i want to kill him!
    sry, just needed to vent. and the worst thing is i won my fly heat. im done now

    Maltese is actually my heritage, its a little little little little little extremely tiny island in the Mediteranean sea. It’s below Sicily if any one wants to look it up. Its really cool though, That’s where I was born then we moved to the u.s and spent like half of my life living in about 30 states. So I speak like an American but actually I’m Maltese, which is also cool because I’m natually tan, which is so awesome here in Alaska, Everyone always says I’m unfair to be tan. Heehee.
    Has anyone ever read the Spy High series?? I think their pretty cool but I don’t want to say if I like them better than the Alex Rider series because I might offend people if they think Spy High is better or the other way around :o)

  555. i am so sad, we had to put my doggy to sleep yesterday! he was only 4 years old! on monday he tore a ligament in his back left knee and the vet said we could fix it with surgery, but he would have to relax for about 6 months and not do much. but pepper (my dog) loves running and always runs at the dore barking when someone comes to the doorm so it wouldnt work very well. plus, the vet said that most dogs that do that, blow the other knee with 2 years. well, he blew the other one on thursday. there was just no way he would be able to recover, so we had to put him down. i was bawling so hard all day! we went to see him and stayed with him while they gave him… the shot. he looked really peacfull though- his eyes closed a little, and he gently layed hi head down. the shot was the same stuff they use for anesthesia, just a higher concentration, so it really looked like he was going to sleep. we went out for dinner and when we got home there was no jingling of tags or a big black shape wiggling around excited to see us, and i just started crying again. the house is just so empty and… well… quite. i miss him so much! it has been my worst nightmare that something would happen to him, and now it has! *cries and hugs baby, my big pink dolphin that is like my baby blanket*

    I can tell you that there definatly will be an alex rider film coming out, probably many. Anthony Horrowitz is the coolest guy ever, hes really funny! He came to our school and made us all laugh like hell. I got his autograph and asked him if a movie was coming out, and he sed yeah! And auditions will be held somewhere in london, and alex rider and sebina pleasure will be decided real quick, and the actors/actresses will probs be from a talent school. I wud love to play sebina plasure. Lol, our teacher knows mr.horrowitz! =D

  569. Darnit, I hate school. The only thing that got me through the half term was reading the Alex Rider books, but now there finished (SOB)i can’t wait until the new one comes out 😀 Maybe i should have scaled the books out through the years. Year 9 was the worst year though. I had no books to read for half the year, because we had to read some freaky home work books. Well, i hope this year won’t be like last year. Or i may have to kill myself.

Would you like three of the main reasons why (remember, this is only three)? 1) Kerry supports abortion. How would you like to be the infant that gets killed off. 2) Kerry aproves gay/lesbian rights. A marraige should be between a man and a woman. 3) Kerry would most definetly raise taxes. That pretty much backs itself up. If you’re talking about the war, though, think about it this way: Bush had just came into office, and all of the sudden, the attack of 9/11 happens. There were many deaths, and tons of confusion. Families are devastated over the deaths of their loved ones. He’s put under a lot of presure on short notice. So what would you do? Sit back with a (sick) grin on your face and say “Oh, it’s okay, we’re not mad.” And if you blame Bush for not knowing ahead of time, don’t. That was intelligence’s fault. (perhaps you can learn about the Clinton administration–the first attack on the World Trade Center, Kenya, Khobar Towers, The Cole. Or would you bomb an aspirin factory to cover up your own troubles?)Think of the elementary school saying: “Checks and Balences!”. . . . .There, my speech is over 🙂

    100 troops to Iraq?1? I believe we are sending 10,000 troops (to increase to 150,000). They are having elections on 1/30/05. If you READ the news, attacks are increasing to stop those elections.
    Facts need not get in the way when you express your First Amendment rights. I take that is what you are doing. Certainly, George Soros, Al Franken, Michael Moore, and Richard Dreyfuss all believe that.
    Though, one last question, do you even know the definition of a Republican and a Democrat?

  638. IgnotusV- You still haven’t directly replied to my December 5 post. In fact, you haven’t said much in the way of politics at all. Why? Because you can not argue against the truth except with lies. Or are your Dec. 4&5 posts all you know on the subject and you do not look up the reasoning behind it or think deeply about it?
    On a lighter note, Texas Holdem is trying to advertise some sort of gambling poker website. Don’t pay any attention, he/she does that every now and then. As the really unoffical reasearcher for the page, i haven’t heard the rumor that the book was called “Lord’s Cavern.” It might also be called Dark Angel (less suported rumor)i guess we’ll find out in April.

  643. I am so knackered!!! (english terms) i had 2 hours sleep (reading the amber spyglass) than i had to do 2 hours weight training in the gym (treadmills, rowing machines, weights so on..so on..) than at lunch i found out that i left my lunch money at home, so i only had a chocolate bar (kindly donated from a friend) and had to have 1 hour science after school, and had to get home, only to have to finish an english essay (on a play called “a view from a bridge” by Arthur Miller and revise for a biology test and a history test.. the only good thing i can say is that i put on a B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T play in drama and my christmas holiday starts next week!!!

    I got the Dark Angel rumor, and those posts, from the site leah and i were discussing earlier; allreaders. i noticed the religous connection, but i’m not sure the title has to be along those lines. WE could be wrong.
    osi- sounds like a tough day. My Christmas/holiday break starts next Saturday. And next week is spirit week (Including twin day, pajama day, and hat day) and we get out 1 hour early on friday and friday is also activity day in addition to being hat day. (classes are extra short and we get to do lots of fun stuff)

  668. alex got a bullet proof cycling vest in eaglestrike along with the bike – that’s what allowed him to live when damien cray shot him just before he shoots yassen. but i doubt alex was wearing that, as gadgets are hardly ever carried from one book to the next, only the zit cream at the beginning of point blanc with the crane – drug dealer bit. yes, i have read these books too much.

  674. james- i am american too. i ordered scorpia off ebay a couple months ago. it cost about $16 (not pounds) including shipping, so it was a really good deal, especially considering that when it finally comes to the US it will be in hardcover, and id have to pay that much anyway. it was definetly worth it- scorpia was one of the best. you should really order it

    Becouse it was a slow .22 gun and it hits a bone before his hart he isn’t dead. (He fells no bullet, but like someone was hit him!)
    He got a hartdisnagtion (is that the right word?) and so there was no breathing anymore. His brain got no oxygen, so he saw no colours anymore.
    He saw his mother and father becouse he was hallucinating, a few seconds later he’s out of realization (i have no idea how to describe that).
    So, his situation is critical but he is still alive.

  701. Ik zocht wat informatie op internet en het schijnt dat het zesde boek ‘Arc Angel’ gaat heten in het Engels, en het zevende boek ‘Zagros’.
    Arc Angel speelt zich af in de bergen van Irak. Alex heeft de aanslag dus overleefd. Hoeveel tijd zal er zitten tussen het einde van het laatste boek en het begin van het nieuwe? Ik bedoel, zo snel knapt hij toch niet op van die aanslag?
    Mijn gevormde theorie is dat Alex wel echt neergeschoten werd. De kogel raakte alleen een bot voor zijn hart. Omdat de Ruger .22 niet zo snel is ketste de kogel af. Door de klap kreeg hij echter een hartstilstand waardoor het bloed niet meer rondgepompt werd. Er was dus ook geen zuurstof toevoer meer. Daardoor komen zijn hersens in de problemen en ziet hij geen kleuren meer. Het zien van zijn ouders was slechts een hallicunatie! Maar hij is wel in kritieke toestand.
    Niet dat iemand dit hier kan lezen, denk ik, maar je weet ‘t nooit…

Apparently they send in Alex to find the WMD, and instead of taking pictures of them, he blows them up. He said ‘the epilogue is George Bush and the British Prime Minister writing e-mails to each other, asking what they’re going to tell the public’. Maybe he was kidding (it sounds a bit daft),but he swore there would be a sixth book. Also, he said that when he’s finished his next five-book series (Ravensgate or Ravenshead, I can’t remember) he might write another Alex Rider book. I don’t know whether that would be a prequel or sequel, though.

  720. Producers Marc and Peter Samuelson have optioned the best-selling Alex Rider series of teen spy novels, which they will develop under their new overall deal with the Isle of Man Film Commission.
    The seven-book series, of which two have so far been published, is written by Anthony Horowitz.
    He also scripted Brian Gilbert’s “The Gathering,” produced by the Samuelsons, and will adapt his own novels.
    First book, “Stormbreaker” is being prepped to shoot early next year. It introduces 14-year-old Alex Rider who discovers, after the mysterious death of his guardian, that his apparently ordinary childhood has in fact been a clandestine training as a secret agent for MI6.
    The Samuelsons have struck a three-year deal with the Isle of Man Film Commission, comprising a development fund plus a contribution to overhead.
    This marks the first move by the Isle of Man into script development. Since 1995, it has been providing $8 million a year in production finance for movies shot on the island, including “The Gathering” and another Samuelson movie “Gabriel and Me.”
    In March, the island’s government announced a new revolving $36 million film fund over the next five years, on top of $24 million already committed over the next three years. The film commission makes equity investments covering up to 25% of budgets.

Alex finds himself involved with multi-billionaire, Nikolei Drevin who is in charge of the Ark Angel project…a hotel in outer space. But Drevin is being threatened by a group of eco-terrorists who call themselves Force Three and whose leader, Kaspar, has a head tattooed to resemble the planet Earth.
    When Force Three attempt to kidnap Nikolei’s fourteen-year-old son, Paul, they accidentally snatch Alex instead and from that moment Alex finds himself drawn into a war, which could lead to the destruction of an entire American city.     1. Go to “(0) Read Me First”
    2. Go to “(1) Document Manager
    3. Scroll down, lable your story, keep it on “story format, click “browse” then open your story.
    4. Hit “upload document”
    5. After it loads, click “click here to preview”
    6. Edit your story however you need to, then save.
    7. Go to “Create Story” and you should be fine on your own from there.

Audtions: They were already held in the UK and they wont hold them in America because they want british actors, well according to what I’ve heard anyway. By the way, there’s this guy in my tae kwon do class who would be perfect for the part because he’s already a 3rd dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do, he’s in my kendo,judo, and karate class.   1116. hey guys, I got on this IMdb (whatever that stands for) site and found stuff on Peter samuelson (who is apparently the producer of the production company that is doing the Alex Rider movies.) There was some message board about casting calls/auditions for his upcomming movies, but i couldn’t get on. There was some membership thing to imdbpro or whatever that you have to have to look at it, and i don’t have it. I hope this is helpful, though it probably won’t be to anyone w/out the membership. (I hope i’ve been looking up the right thing!)

I loved the book, but if they make a bad movie, I’ll die! But if they make a Point Blank movie, I probably won’t see it because i hate Point Blank. Same with Skeleton Key.

  1242. micky m- ignotusv had a great suggestion w/ role playing, it really helps. Also, you can just try to find monolauges of diff. subjects and try them out, that’ll target your own personal emotions and can help to tell you what sort of emotion/aspect you still need to work on (ie: drama, comedy, horror, etc) HAVE FUN!

    i second what jasmine said, also, for my drama club we try different characters to see what we might need to work on (ex. u could try saying other character’s lines from the books for extra practice)

Oh, i finaly read the previous posts and the reason, apparently, that the shipping took so long was that my dad was the one who checked the mail on the day it came and has had it a week or so!grrr.. THey’ve alreay had their auditions, and i’m not sure you can still send in pics, though it’s worth a try….and come to think of it they may still be accepting. I’m sure they will have more auditions, i’m just not sure where, but if you want to know anything else, try going to the walker books site (if you haven’t already.)

  1359. Just letting you know that I had a casting audition today for the part of Alex Rider. I am informed that the first three books are NOT going to be collaborated together in the first film. The first film will be called Stormbreaker and from then on each book will be a film.
    I have also been told that no-one has been cast yet, and to settle the ideas of people already knowing who is playing Alex Rider, it hasn’t been cast yet.

I WENT FILMING TODAY! it was amazing i made lots of new friends and alex pettyfer is ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fit! it’s a shame his so up him self cuz me friend daniel goes 2 him u know all the girls fancy you and he was like yeah i know i cant blame them, and he always pouts! sorry to the people who asked me to say hi to people, ewan wasnt there because it’s right at the end of the film and apparntly his character is dead and alex was too busy showing off on a bike and at basketball. it’s so fun because we were split into groups and i was in group A, and group A was always near the camra so you can see me. it was propally the best time of my filming life!

    anthony if ur reading this i want 2 tell u that snakehead is now my favourite series. i must say that it’s the most intense series. the BEST and shocking book ive ever red.(mind u iread alot!)
