2014 Indies Choice/E.B. White Read-Aloud Award Finalists

The finalists have been announced for the 2014 Indies Choice/E.B. White Read-Aloud Awards.  Booksellers across the country will vote on their picks and choose the winners.  Here are the finalists in the children’s and YA categories:

  1. As to the read-aloud picture books, great to see CRANKENSTEIN make an appearance, as this was a huge favorite this past year with my own students. Likewise, UNICORN THINKS HE’S PRETTY GREAT is another that captured their fancy, and of course, Peter Brown’s MR. TIGER GOES WILD is a flat-out masterpiece. THE DAY THE CRAYONS QUIT is yet another that dazzled my young ones, appearing on their list of favorites for the year. WARNING is a nice title too, but I must check out DREAM ANIMALS ASAP.
