Children's Music that Rocks

Thank goodness for great niche blogs like Children’s Music that Rocks, a blog all about music for children. I freely admit that I know almost nothing about children’s music, especially not the kind that really rocks. This is a great blog for librarians to know about for collection development and for recommendations for music that parents can actually stand to listen to with their children.

  1. Just a plug for my own kids’ music blog, Zooglobble (http://zooglobble.blogspot.com). I’ve been writing about kids’ music for four years, online for two, and talked about kids’ music on NPR back in April.
Lots and lots of reviews (organized by age, no less), plus news and interviews.
    And we like librarians!

  2. For more great music that kids will love – check out our site http://www.outwiththekids.com.
We review and suggest a handful of “adult” songs each month that are also perfectly suited for the sippy cup set. The site also features books, events, trips, and tips for parents trying to raise healthy, happy, and interesting kids.

  3. We borrowed Princess Katie & Racer Steve’s Songs For The Coolest Kids out of the library and the kids refused to return it. Naturally, we did, but I had to order a copy. The music is fantastic and it’s got such great messages that we were thrilled that they fell in love with it. There’s so much negativity and bad kids music, that I was really psyched to find this CD. My library had several copies and all of them were being borrowed, so I would recommend it. Highly.

  4. Not sure if you have heard this one yet. But if you like the Wiggles, you will love The Wowzers! Check out the CD on CDBaby. I did it for my grand daughter and heck, people like it so i thought i would get you to help me spread the word. We need more wholesome content for our kids and in my case, grand kids! 🙂
