The longlists for the 2021 CILIP Carnegie and Greenaway Awards have been announced. The Carnegie Medal is the UK’s oldest book award. Judged by children’s librarians, the award recognizes “outstanding achievement in children’s writing.” The longlist for the Kate Greenaway medal was also announced, an award that recognizes the best illustrations in a book for children.
